Age limit
You need to be at least 18 years old.

Language
You should be fluent in English. A basic knowledge of Tanzanias national language Kiswahili is an advantage.

Abilities
Respect of foreign cultures, independance, ability to assert yourself and cultural empathy, flexibility, depending of the internship a knowledge in the certain area, patience and the willingness to prepare yourself in terms of intercultural cooperation before your departure.

What you should NOT have a "helper-syndrom"!

Please consider that an internship is not like the work of a development agency and please bear in mind that in the few months you are going to stay in Tanzania it is very unlikely that you can change many things. Bring an open mind, heart and eyes and try to leave your "cultural glasses" at home as much as possible. In the time during your internship it will be mainly you who learns.

Duration
Your internship should last at least 2 months, but 3 months are better, so that also our partners in Tanzania benefit from your commitment.

Finances
You will need sufficient own ressources to cover your costs for living and transport because our partners in Tanzania can understandably not pay any allowances.
